Florence Agyemang, a third-year Business Administration student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST) has won a bronze medal for Ghana at the ongoing 2026 African Senior Athletics Championships.
Competing in the women’s 400 metres event at the Legon Sports Stadium, Florence clocked an impressive time of 51.87 seconds to finish third and secure a place on the podium.
Her achievement follows an outstanding performance at the recently concluded 9th Mini Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games, where she emerged as one of the competition’s top athletes.
At the Games, Florence won gold medals in the women’s 200m, women’s 4x100m relay, women’s 4x400m relay and the 400m mixed relay, performances that earned her a call-up to represent Ghana at the continental championship.
KNUST also finished second overall behind the University of Cape Coast (UCC) at the Mini GUSA Games, capping a strong showing by the university’s athletes.
